OREANDA-NEWS   The launch of production of the first family minivan in the history of AvtoVAZ is scheduled for 2027. This was stated by Sergey Gromak, vice president of the Russian concern, as quoted by RIA Novosti.

He specified that the new car will be designed for 5-7 seats and is intended for family trips. The total investment volume will amount to 21 billion rubles. "It's a big project," Gromak said during a speech at the round table "Taxi transportation: challenges and prospects for the development of the industry."

Currently, he added, preparations are underway for the production of a new model. Gromak did not disclose any technical characteristics of the family minivan.

Earlier, Dmitry Kostromin, Vice president of Sales and marketing at AvtoVAZ, promised to show the concept of this car by the end of 2025. He noted that the novelty will complement the Largus model. Kostromin expressed hope that the Russian minivan will be in demand in the domestic market. According to him, the demand for Chinese analogues present in Russia remains small, as their cost is very high. Against this background, a minivan from AvtoVAZ may occupy the niche in the Russian market vacated after the departure of Western brands, he concluded.
