OREANDA-NEWS  AvtoVAZ presented a new Lada Iskra at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2024), RIA Novosti correspondent reported.

"This car symbolizes the real labor feat of our entire team of thousands — in record time by the standards of the global automotive industry, we actually re—created this car, making it technologically independent," said Maxim Sokolov, president of the company.

The sedan is presented in red, which is called "fire" in the manufacturer's palette. Sokolov clarified that the cost of the budget package itself is now estimated at 1-1.2 million rubles.

Lada Iskra is a new family of compact class B cars. According to AvtoVAZ, the line will include a sedan, a station wagon and an all-terrain wagon in the Cross version. The volume of investments in the project is 23 billion rubles.

It is expected that Iskra will take a place in the model range between Lada Granta and the flagship Lada Vesta. The start of serial production is scheduled for early 2025 in Tolyatti.
