OREANDA-NEWS  Dealers and market participants warned about the imminent rise in price of all foreign cars imported into Russia under the parallel import scheme. The rise in prices is due to a number of factors, including the weakening of the ruble and increasing sanctions pressure, writes Autonews.ru.

The rising prices are also indicated by the fact that each subsequent batch of cars coming in parallel imports are more expensive than the previous ones. The same BMW X5, X7 and 7-Series from Europe are now sold for 15-20 million rubles, and it becomes unprofitable to carry models of more affordable segments, sellers say.

For the same reason, sources add, supplies of inexpensive cars like Hyundai Bayon crossovers from Europe, as well as Jetta VA3 sedans from China or Hyundai Elantra from the UAE will be sharply reduced to Russia.
