OREANDA-NEWS   The share of Chinese trucks in the Russian market has already exceeded 50 percent, exceeding the figures of European brands that left the country. At the same time, sales of KAMAZ are falling, writes Kommersant.

The share of brands from China in the segment has been growing for the fourth week in a row. Chinese trucks already occupy more than half of the market, reaching a record 56 percent. Among the models, the leader is the Sitrak C7H with a result of 372 cars sold. This is twice as much as the most popular model of KAMAZ 43118 (168 cars).

At the end of January, the share of KAMAZ in the truck market, according to the calculations of Autostat, turned out to be 26 percent against 37 percent a year earlier, sales fell by 24.2 percent, to 1.8 thousand cars. "Compared to Russian and Belarusian manufacturers, the Chinese win in terms of price, build quality and level of manufacturability," said Vladimir Zhelobov, director of the department for the purchase of Autospeccenter and Avtodom cars.

Earlier, Russian electronics manufacturers asked for protection from Chinese competitors. To do this, they proposed to introduce duties on the import of smart cards (SIM cards, bank and transport cards) in the amount of 50-100 percent.
