OREANDA-NEWS Demand for Tesla products in Europe continues to fall, despite attempts by the head of this company, Elon Musk, to rectify the situation. This was reported by The New York Times.

Another evidence of this trend was Tesla's sales in Germany, which, as shown by the results of May, have been falling for the fifth month in a row. Registrations of new cars of this brand in Germany, Europe's largest automotive market, decreased by more than a third compared to the same month in 2024.

Musk tried to downplay the scale of Tesla's losses in the EU, citing the weakness of the European car market. However, the real situation contradicts the words of the entrepreneur. For example, in Germany in May, sales of battery-powered cars increased by almost 45 percent compared to last year. In Spain, total sales of electric vehicles increased by 72 percent, while Tesla sales fell by 19 percent. Moreover, in Germany, demand for BYD products, Tesla's main competitor in the field of electric vehicles, has increased nine-fold. In 2025, this manufacturer overtook Musk's company and became the world leader in sales of electric cars.
