In Russia predict a twofold increase in the share of sales of new Chinese cars

OREANDA-NEWS Car dealers predict an increase in the share of sales of new passenger cars of Chinese brands in Russia in 2023 by almost two times - up to 32%, or up to 250 thousand units in absolute terms, RIA Novosti reported in the profile ROAD association.
"According to our forecast, the share of sales of new passenger cars of Chinese brands this year will be approximately 32% (250 thousand units), Russian - 55% (440 thousand units), the remaining 13% (100 thousand units) - foreign cars imported by parallel import," the association said.
At the same time, according to the ROAD, in 2022, the share of sales of Chinese car brands was 18%, or 124.6 thousand new cars sold. Thus, their share is expected to almost double this year.As Denis Manturov, Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, noted earlier, new car sales in the Russian car market are projected to grow in 2023. Also, according to analysts of TeDo (formerly PwC), it is expected to increase slightly by 7%.
