OREANDA-NEWS Russian dealers are experiencing difficulties with the sale of individual car models of Korean and European concerns that have completed their business in the country. According to experts interviewed by Izvestia, the reason is that such cars have increased in price too much.

As examples, the publication cites Kia Cerato and Kia Seltos of 2022, Taos and Tiguan of German Volkswagen in various configurations, as well as Kodiaq and Karoq of Czech Skoda. Cars have been trying to sell for many months, but without success.

The price increase over this period looks significant. So, Kia Cerato in the only available Luxe configuration can be purchased for 2.3 million rubles, although in 2022 it would cost 1.6 million. For Seltos with the simplest set of functions, you will have to pay 2.3 million rubles, which is 500 thousand rubles higher than at the beginning of 2022.

Volkswagen Tiguan in the simplest configuration at the end of 2023 can be bought for 3.9 million rubles, and Chery Tiggo 7 Pro from the same class — for 2.9 million.

Ilya Petrov, Director of Retail sales at the Avilon dealership, explained that now these models are noticeably inferior in price to their counterparts from China. Independent automotive expert Sergey Burgazliev also believes that now the buyer primarily looks at the price. And besides, potential customers may be confused by buying a car for which there is actually no guarantee, and difficulties may arise with the prompt delivery of spare parts.
