OREANDA-NEWS Total budgetary and extra-budgetary expenditures under the state program "Development of the transport system" will decrease in the next three years, according to a review by the analytical company Sherpa Group dated December 28. According to analysts' calculations based on data from the federal budget for 2024-2026 and its annexes, by 2025 these costs will fall by more than 40% relative to the level of 2022 and amount to 1.54 trillion rubles.

The main reason for this decrease is a sharp decrease in expected extra–budgetary investments from 910-930 billion rubles in 2022-2023 to 160-180 billion rubles in 2025-2026. The drop is due to the uncertainty of further infrastructure plans of the state, which affects the railway industry to a greater extent, the review emphasizes. Over the next year, according to the Sherpa Group, new spending volumes will be agreed and approved, which may "smooth out the negative trend a little bit."
