OREANDA-NEWS  Indonesian Ambassador to Russia Jose Antonio Morato Tavares expressed hope for the launch of direct flights between the countries in the future.

The diplomat hoped that direct flights from Moscow to Jakarta and Bali will be launched before the beginning of summer next year. So, according to him, Onur Air has already received permission to fly to the capital of the country. "They have to fulfill some requirements. One of them is to open an office in Indonesia," Tavares said.

In addition, Nordwind is trying to get permission. "We are in the process," the ambassador added. He expressed hope that the issue of flights to the country will be resolved, and "it will be easier to fly to Bali."

In October, Malaysia wanted to resume direct flights with Russia. However, this is hindered by the difficult geopolitical situation and Western sanctions imposed on Russian airlines.
