OREANDA-NEWS   The average cost of a used car in Russia in 2022 increased by 35%, to 1.4 million rubles. At the same time, private sellers "inflated" prices even more – by 45% at once. Analysts came to this conclusion after studying the key indicators of the Russian car market.

The rapid increase in prices for used cars was observed for at least three months: in February, March and April. As a result, by the middle of spring, their average price tag reached 1.3 million rubles.

By the summer, prices declined a little, but since October they have started to grow again, although not at such a sharp pace as it was in the spring. Professional sellers raised them the most – by 25% in the second half of the year and by 50% compared to its beginning. As a result, the average cost of their cars reached 1.42 million rubles and turned out to be 190 thousand higher than that of private car owners.

Meanwhile, the demand for "beushki" against the background of rising prices has decreased. The number of seller's contact views per ad has almost halved, and the average car sale period has increased from 40 to 58 days.

By the way, new cars have not risen so much this year – by only 11%, although there were rapid jumps in the spring, when the price increase reached 60%. Now (at the end of December) the average cost of a new car is 3.4 million rubles.
