OREANDA-NEWS  The most unreliable from the point of view of road safety in Russia are domestic Lada Granta and old Chinese cars. About this "Newspaper.En" said Anton Shaparin, Vice-President of the National Automobile Union (NAS).

He explained that the most dangerous cars are those that are not equipped with modern means of active and passive safety. Lada Granta was created as a car with an anti-lock system (ABS) and an airbag, but then it was deprived of these options. Such a car may behave inadequately on the road, but in the event of an accident, the driver risks being severely injured.

Indian Bajaj Qute cars and old Chinese cars, which began to appear on the Russian market since the 2000s, are also unreliable. "They were made of thin metal, and not all models had active safety systems," Shaparin explained.

He also warned drivers that they should not drive rusty and accident-prone cars. For example, rotted spars significantly reduce the rigidity of the body. The expert added that if the car got into a serious accident, no car service will be able to restore it to its original condition. In case of a repeated accident, such a car will simply form an accordion, he said.

Low—power cars are also dangerous - Daewoo Matiz, Citoren C1, Smart, Nissan Note and even the domestic "Oka". Shaparin explained that in the event of a collision, the car will not be able to maneuver and get out from under the impact.

Previously, cars recommended for priority use by state and municipal employees were named. These are Lada (Vesta, Vesta SW Cross, Granta, Niva Travel, Niva Legend), UAZ ("Patriot", "Pickup", "Pro", "Hunter" and SGR) and Aurus (Senat and Komendant). Officials were also recommended to use Haval, Moskvich and Evolute.
