OREANDA-NEWS Russia has introduced mandatory certification of electric scooters, the government's press service quotes Denis Manturov, head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

"With regard to electric scooters, the introduction of mandatory certification is designed to prevent frequent cases of harm to the life and health of citizens. And the additional introduction of mandatory speed limits will reduce the number of accidents," the minister said.

In addition, electric motors are now subject to mandatory certification. These decisions were made following a meeting of the State Commission on anti-counterfeiting.
"The introduction of mandatory certification for electric motors is designed to eliminate cases of fraud by unscrupulous importers of Russian consumers, especially in terms of engine energy performance, and will also improve the competitive environment in the interests of Russian manufacturers," Manturov explained.

The head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade announced the development of an interstate standard providing for the requirements and methods of ESIM research.
