OREANDA-NEWS. Moscow ranked second in the world in terms of traffic congestion. This is stated in a study by the supplier of automotive and personal GPS navigation TomTom.

The first line of the rating was occupied by Istanbul. At the same time, the overall level of traffic congestion in Istanbul increased by 11% compared to 2020 and amounted to 62%. When calculating the indicators, the situation both in the city itself and in the suburbs was taken into account.

Moscow is in second place (61%), Kiev is in third place (56%). This is followed by the Colombian capital Bogota (55%) and the Indian city of Mumbai (53%).

In total, the report includes 404 cities in 58 countries.

In early February, the United Nations recognized Moscow as the world's best metropolis in the categories "quality of life" and "infrastructure development".
