OREANDA-NEWS A manufacturer from the capital has developed Russia's first electric motorcycle Aurus Merlon, the launch of mass production is scheduled for early 2024, said Vladislav Ovchinsky, head of the capital's Department of Investment and Industrial Policy.

"The NAMI enterprise was the first in Russia to develop an electric motorcycle. The localization level of its production is 80 percent. Now the vehicle is undergoing pilot testing, the launch into mass production is scheduled for early 2024, " he is quoted as saying on the official website of the mayor and the government of Moscow.

It is noted that the electric motorcycle can be operated at negative temperatures — up to minus 25 degrees, it is equipped with heated steering wheel, handles, electric adjustment of the windscreen position, touch electronic dashboard, fast charging function. On one charge, the vehicle can travel about 200 kilometers.
