OREANDA-NEWS  More than 10 new products from the Shanghai Auto Show may be available in Russia. This is reported by Kommersant with reference to market participants.

In late April and early May, new Chinese brands Hongqi, GAC, Aito, Voyah, M-Hero, Chery, Jetour, Zeekr, Avatr and Soueast were presented at the Shanghai Auto Show. The new cars did not make a special impression on Russian dealers, but some of them may appear in domestic showrooms, they admit.

For example, the hybrid Hongqi H5 and Hongqi L1 may go on sale in Russia. The GAC carmaker may bring the S7 model, and Aito Seres — the M9 and M8 crossovers. In the future, the Dongfeng M-Hero 817 electric SUV and the Voyah Free 318 model may become available for purchase.

At the same time, market participants note that stocks of new cars in warehouses in Russia will last for several months even without new supplies. The association of Russian Automobile Dealers (ROAD) estimates the number of unsold cars at 400,000 and talks about overstocking for almost all brands. The Rolf dealer notes that the most difficult situation is with cars imported through parallel import.

Evgeny Zhitnukhin, commercial director of the Fresh automotive marketplace, warned that discounts on new cars, which are often provided by sellers, are temporary in nature: you should not expect discounts to become a permanent phenomenon. According to him, as soon as the surplus from the warehouses is sold off, and supplies come in line with market opportunities, car prices will rise again, which, in turn, will lead to a weakening of demand.
