OREANDA-NEWS Russia plans to increase the number of direct charter flights to Cuba from the end of May, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko told reporters.

"Tourist flows are growing, year-round tourist programs to Cuba have been launched for the first time this year. Taking into account the great popularity of Cuban resorts among Russian tourists, we plan to increase the number of direct charter flights from the end of May," he said, opening a meeting of the intergovernmental Russian-Cuban commission on trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation.

In particular, the airline "North Wind" plans to operate four flights a week to the resort of Varadero and two flights a week to Cayo Coco from May 22.
