OREANDA-NEWS. International air transportation may resume in July after the authorities are convinced of the safety of flights within the country. This was stated by Russian Transport Minister Yevgeny Dietrich.

On March 27, against the backdrop of the coronavirus pandemic, Russia stopped international regular and charter flights. The exceptions are export flights, as well as cargo, mail, ambulance and humanitarian flights, hauls of empty airplanes for maintenance, transit flights with landing for refueling and crew change in the territory of the country and flights carried out according to decisions of the government of the Russian Federation.

“I expressed hope that such an opening is possible in July… Hope is still alive. After we make sure that air transportation within the country is safe, we will be ready to let our citizens out to the vast expanses of the global air ocean,” Dietrich said.
