OREANDA-NEWS Tourists from Russia began to be massively detained after arriving in Thailand. This is reported by the Telegram channel Shot.
According to reports, a married couple from Russia flew to the Asian country from the Philippines. When passing through passport control in Thailand, the Russians said they would be vacationing in the country for nine days, and provided information about the paid apartment for that period. Nevertheless, they were detained. According to them, the customs officers did not like the large number of visas in the passports.
As a result, the couple had to spend five days in a special detention facility at a Thai airport. There were also many Russians among the other detainees. The couple said that the employees treated them rudely and were not even allowed to get the necessary medicines out of their suitcases. As a result, they decided to return to the Philippines.
It is reported that after the outbreak of the conflict between Thailand and Cambodia, about a thousand foreigners were detained. For example, Russian travelers said that a whole bus with tourists from Laos was deployed at the border.
The clashes on the Thai-Cambodian border began on December 8. Russians were advised not to visit some areas near the war zone.
