OREANDA-NEWS A possible reduction in prices for Chinese cars by 5-10 percent may occur in six months or a year, said Vice President of the National Automobile Union Yang Haitseer. He said this in an interview with Sputnik radio.

He noted that the number of Chinese cars, as well as the number of brands, is increasing in Russia, but so far there is no great demand for them among Russians. Heitseer suggested that the market may not be sufficiently filled. "I hope that the competition between Chinese manufacturers will still play a role and there will be a price adjustment," said the vice president of US.

Haitseer also pointed to the fact that cars are cheaper in China itself, and the cost of vehicles in Russia is affected by transportation costs, fairly high customs duties and other payments. "If some of these costs decrease, then our hopes for lower prices may be justified," he added. The auto expert suggested that this could happen at least in six months or a year.
