The high key rate makes the conditions of market car loans in the country prohibitive for a significant part of the population.
Against this background, the weighted average cost of a new car in the domestic market has almost doubled over the past six years, Tselikov noted. Given current prices, there is no reason to expect an early surge in car sales in Russia. By the end of the year, the total sales will amount to about 1.3 million units, the analytical agency predicted.
