OREANDA-NEWS  Hyundai automobile plant in St. Petersburg continues to look for opportunities to restart the conveyor and resume production of cars. This is reported by the local newspaper Delovoy Peterburg with reference to two sources in the market familiar with the plans of the enterprise.

"Hyundai Automobile plant in 2023 will continue to search for an opportunity to resume the normal production process," said one of the sources of DP.

According to the interlocutor of the publication, over the past year the plant has not been able to find new suppliers for a significant part of the components. It was also not possible to arrange their deliveries through the Far Eastern ports – the reason was overloaded railway terminals and a shortage of rolling stock, he explained.

"In addition, with such a logistics route, the delivery time increases significantly, as well as the cost of components," the source added.

The fact that the plant was faced with the impossibility of purchasing components of a number of categories, including electronics, fasteners, oxygen sensors, torsion springs, shock absorbers and power windows, was confirmed by a second source in the industry.
