OREANDA-NEWS  The Crimean Bridge has been fully opened for automobile traffic on all lanes, Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin said. The work was completed 39 days earlier than planned.

"After successfully testing the load—bearing capacity of the spans of the Crimean Bridge, automobile traffic has been fully launched along all its lanes," Khusnullin's press service quotes him as saying. As for the railway part of the bridge, the restoration is planned to be completed there in July, the Deputy Prime Minister added.

According to him, now specialists are assembling structural elements and preparing for their installation. "The work is carried out around the clock in two shifts, 305 people and 32 pieces of equipment are involved. All the necessary volume of metal structures — and this is 524 tons — has been delivered, and more than half of the superstructures have already been assembled," Khusnullin said.

On the morning of October 8, a truck exploded on the Crimean Bridge. This led to the ignition of fuel railway tanks and the partial collapse of two automobile spans, killing four people. The FSB said that the attack was organized by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and personally its head Kirill Budanov. The explosive device was hidden in rolls with construction polyethylene film on 22 pallets with a total weight of almost 22.8 tons. In total, eight people were detained in the case.
