OREANDA-NEWS. The issue of granting airline permits to the resort cities of Egypt will be considered by the Interdepartmental Commission after the positive decision of the Operational Headquarters to Combat the Spread of Coronavirus to resume flights with Hurghada and Sharm El Sheikh. On Friday, July 23, the Federal Air Transport Agency told Izvestia about this.

“Decisions on the granting of permits are made by an interdepartmental commission, which is formed from representatives of the Ministry of Transport of Russia, the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia, FAS Russia, Rostransnadzor, Federal Air Transport Agency and Rostourism,” the company said.

In addition, the interlocutor of the newspaper noted that decisions to issue, refuse or amend the admission are regulated by order of the Ministry of Transport of Russia dated May 7, 2015 No. 162. He added that in the absence of commercial rights to operate international flights, the interdepartmental commission has the right to refuse to grant admission.

On July 19, it became known that the Federal Air Transport Agency did not issue a permit to Russian airlines to operate international flights to Egypt.

In accordance with the order of the department, passenger traffic from Moscow, St. Petersburg and other regions of the country to Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh was planned to be carried out by air carriers Rossiya, Ural Airlines, Nordwind Airlines, Azur Air, Yakutia, S7, iFly, IrAero "," Azimut "and NordStar. 231 companies submitted applications.

On July 14, the chairman of the Egyptian Tourism Development Board (ETPB) under the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, Ahmed Youssef, announced the country's readiness to receive Russian tourists.
