OREANDA-NEWS  In the next two years, four new domestic passenger cars will appear in Russia. One of them, Lada Iskra, was invited by the head of AvtoVAZ to test Russian President Vladimir Putin.

According to the official portal of the President of the Russian Federation, the head of the Russian automobile plant Maxim Sokolov on Thursday, August 3, spoke about the novelties of the automotive industry. According to him, four new cars will be released in the next two years. These are the e-Largus electric car, the Lada Aura business class sedan, the Lada Iskra budget car and the C-class urban crossover on the Vesta platform.

The head of AvtoVAZ recalled how Vladimir Putin tested Lada Kalina, and also offered to test a novelty — Lada Iskra.

Recall that the budget model Lada Iskra will take place between Vesta and Granta. It will be assembled on the CMF-B platform, which AvtoVAZ got from cooperation with the Renault-Nissan alliance. The car will be equipped with an atmospheric tank with a volume of 1.6 liters, with a capacity of 90 hp, which is now being installed on Vesta. A 5-speed manual transmission will be paired with this engine. Perhaps, as an option, they will put a Chinese variator.
