The Ministry of Industry and Trade will create a list of cars for working in a taxi

OREANDA-NEWS The law on the establishment of requirements for the localization level of cars used as taxis does not contain information about specific models of cars, this list will be formed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, follows from a document posted on the website of the official publication of legal acts.
"Information on vehicle models that meet the requirements set out in Part 7 of this article is published by the federal executive authority (Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation - ed.) in the field of industrial policy in accordance with the procedure established by it," follows from the text of the law, which was previously signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The point system for assessing the localization of the automotive industry has been operating in Russia since 2019. Points are required to participate in government contracts. In particular, the threshold for admission to public procurement is now at least 3,200 points for passenger cars, light commercial vehicles and trucks, which implies a high proportion of Russian components and assembly in the Russian Federation.
According to the law, in order to include a car in the regional register of passenger taxis, one of the following requirements must be met: the total number of localization points corresponds to the total number of points set by the Government of the Russian Federation for public procurement, the specified car was produced under a special investment contract concluded between March 1, 2022 and March 1, 2025.
At the same time, the law provides for an exception for the Kaliningrad Region, Siberia and the Far East. The requirements for taxi cars in the Kaliningrad Region will not apply until March 1, 2028, for subjects of the Russian Federation that are part of the Siberian Federal District - until March 1, 2028, for regions that are part of the Far Eastern Federal District - until March 1, 2030.
The law specifies that the list of information for entering a car into the regional register of passenger taxis must include the make, model, year of manufacture, state registration number of the car, vehicle identification number or the identification number of its main component if the specified car does not have an identification number.
The law will be effective from March 1, 2026. At the same time, localization requirements for taxi cars will not apply to vehicles entered into regional registers before this date, and they will be able to operate after the law enters into force.
