OREANDA-NEWS The Baltic states will be able to defend themselves against an alleged Russian invasion with American heavy armored vehicles and fifth-generation fighters, The National Interest wrote.

According to the magazine, operating in close proximity to the Russian border, Polish or Finnish F-35 Lightning II fighters would be able to destroy Russian air defense systems, as well as medium- and long-range ballistic missile launchers. The magazine calls them "vulnerable to low-observable aircraft.

The magazine remembers that Poland ordered M1 Abrams tanks and F-35 Lightning II fighters from the US. The magazine assumes that the strengthening of the Baltic States will become one of the main issues at the upcoming NATO summit in Madrid.

Earlier US President Joe Biden stated that Washington will strengthen its military presence in Europe to protect the Baltic states.
