OREANDA-NEWS   The production of the e-Neva electric crossover, which was created by the Almaz-Antey East Kazakhstan Region concern, was decided to freeze. This is reported by Kommersant with reference to sources.

The project was postponed indefinitely, as it did not receive sufficient funding, and the military enterprise is focused on fulfilling its main tasks.

According to early plans, the production of the electric crossover was to be launched at the former Toyota plant in Shushary. Toyota has been operating in Russia for 15 years, producing Toyota Camry and RAV4 models. Later, the plant became the property of FSUE NAMI at the end of March, and the company's facilities were reserved for the production of Aurus cars.

E-Neva has been developed since 2021 as part of an increase in the holding's share of civilian products. In 2022 and 2023, the project was presented to First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov and President Vladimir Putin. Almaz-Antey intended to launch production of trucks and the E-Neva electric crossover by 2026. In addition, the company also planned to produce trucks and electric microcars of the L-type.
