OREANDA-NEWS  The Russian automobile concern AvtoVAZ plans to launch mass production of the Lada Largus electric car in the first half of 2024. Such a deadline was called by the head of the company Maxim Sokolov, RIA Novosti writes.

The car will be produced at the Izhevsk plant. As the president of the concern noted earlier, the model is the only highly localized electric vehicle in the country, while the rest of the projects in this area are related to large-node assembly.

At the beginning of next year, the production of Largus with an internal combustion engine, which was stopped in August, will also be resumed at the site, Sokolov added. AvtoVAZ announced the cessation of production at the Tolyatti site, having produced 635 cars in August. The decision to move production at the enterprise was explained by the desire to load the enterprise as much as possible in Togliatti, where Lada Iskra, Lada Aura and a new crossover on the Vesta platform will be produced.

After the outbreak of hostilities in Ukraine, the production of Lada Largus stopped several times — the company lacked components coming mainly from abroad. Before the stop in August, the production of the car was resumed in July, then 1800 cars were produced.
