Turkish Airlines plans to buy up to 225 Boeing aircraft

OREANDA-NEWS Turkish Airlines intends to purchase up to 225 Boeing Co. aircraft to expand and modernize its fleet.
According to a Boeing press release, the airline has confirmed an order for the purchase of up to 75 787 Dreamliners, including 35 787-9 and 15 787-10 airliners, with an option to purchase another 25 aircraft of this series.
The order is estimated at more than $22 billion, according to Ishka Ltd., which makes calculations based on industry standard discounts.
Deliveries are expected in 2029-2034.
Turkish Airlines also announced its intention to buy up to 150 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, which could be the largest single order for narrow-body aircraft in Boeing's history.
The order will be placed if the airline manages to reach an agreement with CFM International, which manufactures engines for the Boeing 737.
The Turkish Airlines fleet includes more than 200 Boeing airliners, including 787-9, 777, 737 MAX and 737 new generation aircraft, as well as 777 cargo planes.
