OREANDA-NEWS   Loud explosions thundered in Cheboksary amid an air attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This is reported by the Telegram channel Shot.

According to local residents, a powerful explosion was heard in the city at 5:10 a.m., followed by several more pops in the south and northwestern outskirts.

According to Shot, air defense systems are currently operating in Cheboksary, and several air targets have already been shot down. Eyewitnesses said that after the attack, a column of thick gray smoke appeared in one of the districts of the city.

Official information about the consequences and the victims has not yet been received.

Shortly before that, the Ukrainian Armed Forces fired at Belgorod with American HIMARS missiles. According to Shot, a fire broke out in one of the apartment buildings as a result of the attack. Previously, the fire started due to the fall of debris from a downed rocket onto the roof.
