OREANDA-NEWS  The Czech Republic has joined the European Union countries that support stricter rules for issuing Schengen visas to former and current Russian servicemen participating in a special military operation in Ukraine, Czech Prime Minister Andrei Babis said on Wednesday.

"The Czech Republic has joined the initiative of a number of EU countries that advocate stricter rules for issuing visas to former and current Russian military personnel seeking to enter the Schengen area," Babis said at a meeting of the European Affairs Committee of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Parliament, quoted by the CHTK agency.

It is expected that the issue of visas for Russian military personnel will be discussed at the EU summit on Thursday.
