OREANDA-NEWS  Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and special representative of the President of the Russian Federation for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries, commented on a report by the Financial Times newspaper that the EU is increasing imports of Russian gas as the crisis in the Middle East reduces supplies.

"As predicted, Europe needs Russia to survive," Dmitriev wrote on the social network X.

Earlier, the Financial Times newspaper reported that in the first three months of the year, Europe increased imports from Russia's flagship liquefied natural gas project as the conflict in the Middle East puts pressure on global supplies.
