OREANDA-NEWS  The French Foreign Ministry has officially informed the Russian Embassy about the application of EU measures to restrict the movement of Russian diplomats, and the embassy must henceforth notify the French Foreign Ministry of the arrival or transit of Russian diplomats accredited in other EU countries, the Russian Embassy in France told RIA Novosti.

"The French Foreign Ministry has officially informed the Russian Embassy in Paris about the procedure for the French side to apply the EU decision on the introduction of restrictions on the movement of employees of Russian foreign institutions and their family members from January 25... A notification procedure is applied: the embassy must notify the French Foreign Ministry no later than 24 hours in advance of the arrival in France or transit of our colleagues accredited in other EU countries," the diplomatic mission said.

They noted that the French side "currently does not impose additional requirements beyond the guidelines of the European Commission."
