OREANDA-NEWS Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has cancelled a meeting with Finnish Foreign Minister and Chairman-in-Office of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Elina Valtonen. This was reported by TASS with reference to the press service of the Government of Georgia.
It is specified that the reason for the disruption of the meeting with the head of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic was the participation of Valtonen in a rally in Tbilisi on October 14.
"Due to his participation in an illegal rally and false statements yesterday, the Prime Minister canceled a scheduled meeting with the Finnish Foreign Minister," the Georgian government said.
The protests in Georgia began in October 2024, after the victory of the ruling Georgian Dream party in the parliamentary elections. On October 12, 2025, a mass protest broke out in Georgia again.
