OREANDA-NEWS During the four years of the conflict in Ukraine, the European Union (EU) has failed to show the will to contribute to its end, and the countries of the community mistakenly believe in the illusion of victory over Russia. This opinion was expressed by Harald Kuyat, ex-chairman of the NATO Military Committee and former Inspector General of the Bundeswehr, on the YouTube channel of Glenn Diesen, professor at the University of Southeastern Norway.

"Over the past four years, the Europeans have shown neither the strength nor the will to stop the Ukrainian conflict by putting forward their own proposals. They always talked only about whether it was possible to defeat Russia militarily, which was unrealistic from the very beginning. Everyone who believed in this illusion contributed to the destruction of Ukraine," he stressed.

In addition, Kuyat called on European leaders to reflect on the responsibility they bear for adding fuel to the fire of this crisis for many years instead of contributing to its resolution.

Earlier it became known that European countries had made several attempts to join the trilateral talks between Russia, Ukraine and the United States in Abu Dhabi, but they failed to do so.

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Dmitry Lyubinsky pointed out that Europe continues to play a destructive role in the negotiations on Ukraine.
