OREANDA-NEWS In the Moldovan village of Neguren, farmers staged a protest on tractors, said Vasily Kostyuk, a deputy from the Democracy at Home party.
The farmers drove to the outskirts of the village, and the agricultural machinery was placed on the side of the road, placing posters on it with slogans: "We work, not begging," "Respect for those who feed you."
The organizers expressed dissatisfaction with the limited access of Moldovan products to store shelves and competition from cheap imports. They accused the authorities of lacking clear rules in dealing with large retail chains. Because of this, farmers suffer losses and are forced to stop agricultural activities.
"Their warehouses are full of vegetables, and they don't know what to do with them, where to sell them. On the other hand, they are under pressure from bailiffs. And this is despite the fact that we voted for the law so that farmers would not be pressured by bailiffs for the next 12 months," said Kostyuk, who came to the protest.
He recalled that at the end of the year, the opposition proposed amendments to the laws to help agricultural producers, but the ruling Action and Solidarity party did not support them.
