In Russia the number of self-employed is projected by 2027

He recalled that as of February 28, 2023, 6.99 million self-employed people had been registered in Russia. By 2028, their number has grown 2.28 times and reached 15.91 million. The reasons for this dynamic are that it is very easy to apply for self—employed status remotely through the My Taxes app.
The economist is confident that there will be more and more self-employed people in Russia. By 2027, the corresponding figure will rise above 20 million. By the end of 2028, when this experiment comes to an end, we will be talking about 22-23 million people.
In December last year, the State Duma adopted a bill to launch an experiment in Russia on the voluntary entry of self-employed citizens into the compulsory social insurance system in case of temporary disability.
