Laos will give Russia a pair of elephants

OREANDA-NEWS Laos President said that the republic intends to donate a pair of elephants to Russia, which symbolize peace and prosperity.
At a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow, his Laotian counterpart said that on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the restoration of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the Government and the people of Laos would like to present the Russian Federation with a pair of elephants.
"They'll come in handy on the farm, thank you," Putin replied with a smile.
If the Russian side agrees to accept this gift, Thonglong Sisulit said, it is necessary to discuss the issues of elephant transportation.
"Elephants are a symbol of our ancient country, the country of millions of elephants, and they are a symbol of peace and prosperity," said the President of Laos.
