OREANDA-NEWS  The United Kingdom intends to develop new tactical ballistic missiles with warheads weighing 200 kg for Ukraine, capable of hitting targets at a distance of more than 500 km, the Ministry of Defense of the United Kingdom said.

"As part of the Nightfall project, the UK has announced a competition for the rapid development of land-based ballistic missiles with a range of more than 500 km, designed to operate in dangerous areas with strong electromagnetic interference," the statement said.

It is assumed that these missiles, equipped with a 200-kilogram warhead, can be launched from various platforms. London expects to be able to produce "10 systems per month at a maximum cost of 800,000 pounds per rocket ($1 million)."

"The project is aimed at developing the British defense industry, supporting innovation and growth, as well as strengthening support for Ukraine in 2026," the ministry stressed.
