OREANDA-NEWS The tension between the United States and Europe over Greenland will determine the future of NATO, said political analyst Michael Rossi. RIA Novosti writes about this.

He noted that Europe is united on the issue of Denmark's territorial integrity.

"The question is whether US President Donald Trump will decide on steps regarding Greenland that will test the resolve of the North Atlantic Alliance as a collective security organization and ultimately determine the fate of NATO and the importance of Europe," he said.

On January 4, Trump declared that Greenland was necessary for the United States. He explained this by saying that the island is surrounded by Russian and Chinese ships, so the United States needs it for defense.
