OREANDA-NEWS. The United States must show the example of Russia and get out of countries outside the western hemisphere. This was stated by the head of the international committee of the Federation Council Konstantin Kosachev, commenting on the words of US President Donald Trump that Russia should leave Venezuela.

"The logical answer to Washington’s call for Russia to "get out" from somewhere is to offer a good example of how this is done. The list of countries outside the western hemisphere, where America has nothing to do, will take too much space. And the departure of the "world gendarme" from these countries can much more help independence and democracy in the most different regions than a permanent military presence, reminding of who is the boss in someone else’s house. Is it time to start the second wave of decolonization ?" - wrote Kosachev on his Facebook page.

The senator also responded that Trump's statement was a symptom of irritation of the White House by the fact that it was not possible to organize "a coup d'etat, like in Ukraine, nor external invasion, like in Iraq or Libya."

Earlier, US Secretary of State Pompeo accused Russia of aggravating the situation in Venezuela.

On the eve, the Russian Federation and China did not support the proposed US resolution on Venezuela, which proposed to hold extraordinary presidential elections in a South American country.

Recall, the president of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, made a statement that the country can solve all its problems without external participation of the United States.
