Russian schoolchildren won eight medals at the computer science tournament

OREANDA-NEWS Russian schoolchildren have won eight gold medals at the XVI International Advanced Level Tournament in Computer Science (IATI), the office of Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko reported.
"The Russian national team took part in the XVI International Advanced Computer Science Tournament (IATI). According to the results of the competitive tests, the students won 8 gold medals," the message says.
"The victories of our students at international competitions, such as this computer science tournament, confirm that Russia is rich in talented, hardworking children," Chernyshenko said.
Kravtsov, in turn, added that the bright successes of the students once again confirm the effectiveness of the Russian education system, which not only provides fundamental knowledge, but also educates future industry leaders.
The tournament took place from April 9 to 13 in the Bulgarian Shumen. In 2025, Russian schoolchildren participated in distance learning competitions. As a result of the competition, they won eight gold medals out of a possible 12. A total of 24 students from educational institutions in Moscow, Kazan, St. Petersburg, Lipetsk and Sarov took part in the tournament.
It is specified that the international tournament in Bulgaria is one of the stages of preparing schoolchildren for the International Olympiad in Computer Science, which will be held from July 27 to August 3 in the capital of Bolivia, Sucre.
