Samsung Corporation showed a new iPhone in its own advertisement. The Notebookcheck edition drew attention to this.

Media journalists saw an advertisement on social networks where the Galaxy S26 Ultra smartphone was compared with an unknown iPhone. The Korean company showed how the privacy function works: when you turn the device, its screen is darkened, and the display of the Apple device is visible from all sides. The journalists came to the conclusion that under the guise of a competing phone, Samsung showed the future iPhone 18 Pro Max.

They noticed that the device shown has a Dynamic Island screen cutout, which is smaller than the current iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max. The journalists also recalled that Samsung is a supplier of displays for the iPhone — the company is well aware of which screens Apple phones have and which they should receive.

The article says that in different regions, ads were released with a Dynamic Island cutout of different sizes on the iPhone display. The journalists suggested that either Samsung was mistaken, or they were not sure exactly what the iPhone 18 series would be like, and therefore showed several options.

Earlier, insiders said that Samsung will introduce three folding smartphones this summer. In July, the company will release the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Flip 8 and Galaxy Z Fold Wide.
