OREANDA-NEWS  South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has assured that the country will continue to cooperate with Russia despite the calls of politicians from the European Union, the Izvestia newspaper reported on Thursday.

"We continue to work with Russia on a number of issues, of course," Ramaphosa said on the sidelines of the G20 foreign ministers' meeting in Johannesburg, responding to a question from the publication.

He added that South Africa is open to dialogue with many countries.

"Excluding any countries from the dialogue is not an instrument of our foreign policy," Ramaphosa said.

Earlier, the head of European diplomacy, Kaya Kallas, called on the South African authorities to stop working with Russia.
