OREANDA-NEWS  South Korean President Lee Jae-myung has apologized for the flight of private drones into North Korean territory. His words are quoted by the Yonhap news agency.

"Although the government did not do this, I apologize to the North for the unnecessary tension in the military sphere caused by reckless behavior," the politician said. He called such provocations unacceptable.

According to TASS, in early January, Pyongyang said that South Korean drones violated the country's airspace on September 27 and January 4. The armed forces of the Republic of Korea denied involvement in the launches, and the authorities launched an investigation on suspicion that some private individuals had done it.

Earlier, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, during a keynote speech at the first session of the 15th Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK, called South Korea a country that is officially recognized as hostile.
