OREANDA-NEWS. An improvised explosive device exploded near the Orthodox gymnasium in the area of the Vvedensky Vladychny Convent in Serpukhov. This was announced on Monday, December 13, by Olga Vradiy, senior assistant to the head of the Main Directorate of the Russian IC for the Moscow region. According to the Interfax news agency, the bomb was activated by an 18-year-old graduate of an Orthodox gymnasium. The agency's source said that doctors managed to resuscitate the teenager. Meanwhile, TASS reports that he died of blood loss.

The number of victims as a result of the incident is being specified. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Moscow region reported that in addition to the graduate, a 15-year-old teenager was injured. A representative of the emergency services, in turn, told the RIA Novosti news agency about seven victims. The TASS reported about eight.

A criminal case has been initiated under articles on attempted murder and illegal trafficking of explosives. According to a TASS source in law enforcement agencies, the former high school student planned an attack during morning prayers, but an improvised explosive device went off at the entrance to the educational institution.

According to one of the eyewitnesses of the incident, immediately after the explosion, children began to run out to hide in the refectory. According to preliminary data, it was a former pupil of the gymnasium Vladislav Struzhenkov. The source claimed that he was fond of computer games, including shooting.

In turn, the interlocutor of the Interfax agency reported that, according to the preliminary version, the motive of the crime was the suspect's hatred of school teachers and nuns against the background of personal hostile relations. According to the source, during his studies, the teenager could be bullied.
