OREANDA-NEWS There is a huge potential for cooperation between Cuba and Russia, including between the regions of the two countries, said President of the Republic of Cuba Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez.

"We have a huge potential not only for cooperation at the national level, but also between regions," he said during a meeting with St. Petersburg Governor Alexander Beglov.

"The types of activities they are engaged in are of high priority for Cuba. These are areas such as biotechnology and the pharmaceutical industry, IT and energy technologies. We believe that new joint projects may arise during these visits," said Diaz-Canel Bermudez.

He also stressed that Cuba is ready to provide medical rehabilitation services for adults and children.

"And we are considering the possibility that it (rehabilitation - ed.) be provided in the resort area in Varadero.... In the coming days, the documents of 10 candidates for secondary education in St. Petersburg will be sent. We also confirm the participation of Cuban schoolchildren in summer events... including the Scarlet Sails festival," the Cuban president added.
