OREANDA-NEWS  The head of the European Diplomacy, Kaya Kallas, said that the European Union's (EU) plan for Ukraine includes two points: to weaken Russia and to support Ukraine. Her words are quoted by RIA Novosti.

"Pressure should be exerted on the aggressor, not on the victim. Encouraging aggression will only lead to its intensification. The EU has an absolutely clear two-point plan. First, to weaken Russia. Secondly, to support Ukraine," she said.

Kallas also expressed the opinion that sanctions against Russia are effective because they allow reducing Russia's revenues from the sale of hydrocarbons.

The head of the European Diplomacy added that the EU has already imposed sanctions, which have affected more than 550 vessels, and extensive diplomatic negotiations have been held with the so-called "black" states, under whose flags these vessels are registered.

They are now seeking to conclude preliminary treaty agreements with these countries. This is a legitimate mechanism that allows one side to inspect a vessel from another country, which slows down the work of the "shadow fleet" and reduces Russia's income. Therefore, they will continue to work on expanding sanctions against the "shadow fleet", both in relation to the vessels themselves and those who ensure their activities.

Earlier, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio promised that he would discuss Trump's peace plan to resolve the Ukrainian crisis with Washington's European partners.
