OREANDA-NEWS  The Russian fourth-generation MiG-29 fighter does not want to disappear, complains Christian Orr, a columnist for the American magazine 19FortyFive.

"Soviet aircraft continue to live longer than the Soviet Union itself," the publication says.

The author considers the MiG-29 to be "a Soviet fighter that refuses to retire." The observer calls the Indian Air Force (IAF) one of the leading users who not only "continue to operate the MiG-29, but also tirelessly modernize it over the years."

The author considered Ukraine to be another example of a country that uses the capabilities of the MiG-29.

In December, the chairman of the Presidium of the Officers of Russia, Major General Sergei Lipovoy, said that the MiG-29 fighters that Poland was going to transfer to Ukraine had used up their resources.
