OREANDA-NEWS  The United States has lifted sanctions on three Russian container ships, according to a release from the U.S. Treasury Department.

Among them are Fesco Moneron, Fesco Magadan and St. Nikolai. All of them, according to the United States, fly the Russian flag.

The first two were added to the sanctions list two days before the start of the special operation in Ukraine in 2022. At that time, the United States claimed that it had done this in response to Russia's recognition of the independence of the DPR and LPR. Restrictions were imposed on the third vessel later in April. In American documents, their ownership is attributed to subsidiaries of Promsvyazbank and Alfa-Bank.

According to the Marinetraffic ship tracking service, Fesco Moneron is currently located in Nagayev Bay near Magadan, Fesco Magadan is off the coast of Japan, and St. Nikolai is in the Sea of Azov.

Moscow has repeatedly stressed that Russia will cope with the sanctions pressure that the West began to exert on it several years ago and continues to strengthen. Officials noted that unfriendly states lack the courage to admit the failure of such a policy. Western countries themselves have repeatedly expressed opinions about the ineffectiveness of unilateral restrictions.
